Suggested Uses for Missionary Trading Cards:

With Children:

  • Distribute to Girls in Action, Royal Ambassador, Children in Action, MissionKids, and other mission education organization members.

  • Distribute through other childrens programs such as TeamKid.

  • Distribute to children as part of childrens sermon about North American missions.

  • Distribute in Sunday School classes.

You may choose to give each child the complete 8-card set. If so, instruct the child to separate the cards and to post one each day for 8 days (during the Week of Prayer or other emphasis time) in a prominent place in their home (refrigerator, bathroom mirror, nightstand, etc.). The child should be encouraged to pray for the missionary, and may write to them (however, please help them understand that the missionary may not be able to reply.)

You may choose to separate the cards and give each child one apiece. Tell the child that the missionary on the card is to be their special missionary to pray for during the Week of Prayer (or other emphasis time). Encourage the child to write the missionary and to visit www.AnnieArmstrong.com to learn more about the missionary and the work.

You may choose to get several packages, separate the cards, mix them all up and hand out eight cards to each child. Since inevitably one or more children will get duplicates, they can then trade cards with other children until they have the complete set. Use this as an introduction to a prayer time for the missionaries and their work.

Separate the cards, mix them up, and give each child one card each. Have the children divide into groups by identifying other children with the same card. Lead groups to pray specifically for that missionary.

With Youth:

  • Distribute the card sheets or individual cards. If access to the Internet is available, have youth visit www.AnnieArmstrong.com to learn more about each missionary.

  • Have youth choose a card and write a thank you note to the missionary for their service in ministry.

With Adults:

  • In a mission group prayer time or churchwide prayer meeting, distribute card sheets or individual cards to participants. Lead in a prayer time, and encourage participants to take the cards home and pray for the missionary(s), posting the card(s) in a prominent place in their home.

  • To help divide adults into prayer groups, distribute one card to each person. Have the adults divide into groups by identifying other people with the same card. Lead groups to pray specifically for that missionary.

  • If showing segments from the Week of Prayer video, distribute cards identifying the missionary whose segment you are about to see or have seen. Let the card serve as a reminder to pray.

  • Encourage adults to visit www.AnnieArmstrong.com to learn more about the Week of Prayer missionaries.
